Sending domains used to be one of the main things that pushed you onto a bigger plan. Free accounts got one, Starter got three, and Growth got ten. We've changed that, and the new limits are already live on every account.
The new limits
| Plan | Before | Now |
|---|---|---|
| Free | 1 | 3 |
| Starter | 3 | Unlimited |
| Growth | 10 | Unlimited |
| Scale | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Enterprise | Unlimited | Unlimited |
If you're on Free, you can now verify up to three sending domains. If you're on any paid plan, there's no cap at all. You can add as many domains as you need.
Why we changed it
Very few real setups send from just one domain. A typical product sends from its main domain, plus a subdomain for transactional mail like mail.yourapp.com, and often a separate one for marketing. Agencies and developers working on several projects juggle even more. A one-domain limit meant many people hit the cap while they were still evaluating Zend, before they'd sent anything meaningful.
We'd rather you upgrade because you're sending more email and want higher volume, batch sending, and better support, not because you ran out of slots for domains you already own. So paid plans now differ on sending volume and features, and domains are no longer part of that.
Nothing else changes
- Same verification. Every new domain still gets verified with DKIM and SPF before it can send. With single-record DKIM, that's quick to set up.
- Same deliverability. Each domain is authenticated and sent through the same reputation-monitored infrastructure as before.
- Same pricing. Plan prices and monthly email allowances are unchanged.
There's nothing you need to do
The new limits apply automatically. Head to Email → Domains in your dashboard and add the domains you've been holding back. If you've hit the limit before, the Add domain button works again.
New to sending domains? The Sending domains guide walks you through adding and verifying one in a few minutes.
